The residential project was centered around a site located in Jammu, nestled within a hilly landscape characterized by contour variations. A significant challenge during the design process was navigating the site’s uneven topography.
To address this, the contour levels were strategically utilized to differentiate the hierarchy of spaces, effectively segregating public areas from private zones. This careful consideration ensured that the design promoted privacy while fostering a sense of community. The architectural language was developed in response to the immediate context and climate, drawing inspiration from local vernacular elements while incorporating modern design principles.
The materials and forms selected were reflective of the regional architecture, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Large windows and open spaces were integrated to maximize natural light and ventilation, enhancing the comfort and livability of the residence. Overall, the project aimed to create a harmonious living environment that respects the unique qualities of Jammu’s landscape while providing functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces for its inhabitants.
